Auld Lang Syne is one of the best-known songs in the English-speaking world. The melody goes back to a pentatonic Scottish folk song. The song is traditionally sung at the turn of the year to commemorate the deceased of the year that has come to an end.
The German title is Nehmt Abschied, Brüder. In the scout movement, it is regarded worldwide as a farewell song that is sung at the end of events.
My arrangement is based on the 'solemn' mood associated with these occasions and is available in both Low-D and Low-G.
