The ukulele, this small, often underestimated instrument, offers a world of lightness and joy. Its sound, bright and airy, is reminiscent of the wings of a butterfly gliding gently through the air. Like the delicate movements of a butterfly over a flower, the notes of the ukulele dance over the strings, light-footed and carefree. Each stroke carries a melody that is as fleeting and yet as significant as the fluttering of a butterfly's wing.
The five miniatures in the book are aimed at advanced beginners and intermediate players (grade 4-5), but the advanced players will also have some fun. Each piece lasts about one minute to one minute and a half with a total playing time of about 7 minutes. Due to the open, airy sound, all pieces are written in high g and are best played in reentrant tuning. I hope to enrich the growing repertoire for the modern fingerstyle ukulele.
