The guitar piece "Dance of the Lost" was composed in 1995 by Ekkehard Prepens and dedicated to his daughter Helena. Over three decades, it was set aside, modified, and further developed. This edition presents the piece in its final 2025 version.
Originally written in 3/4 time, the piece evolved through rhythmic experimentation, ultimately leading to the idea of the lost dancers.
The composition is based on three musical motifs, referred to here as choreographies. These alternate and are framed by a calm B minor chord. The piece combines clear structures with expressive melodic lines, making it a special experience for both guitarists and listeners alike.
The present edition is written in standard notation without tablature and is intended for the advanced player. (Level 4-5)
