Hello, friends of the ukulele,

my name is Ekkehard Prepens, and I was born in Essen in 1964. Over the years, I've made my way from Berlin and Hannover to near Braunschweig.

At the age of 11 I started playing the guitar and began with chord accompaniment, then moved on to fingerpicking, and eventually to classical guitar. I had the privilege of being taught by excellent teachers who followed the Emilio Pujol method, which is rather rare today, and for that, I am grateful in retrospect. It's one of the most comprehensive guitar teaching methods.

I discovered the ukulele in February 2020. After being introduced to this instrument by the head of a music school, I started taking an interest in the ukulele and began teaching it.

Over the years, I have focused intensively on adapting guitar repertoire for the ukulele, and in the process, I composed the suite "Hobbits Tag" (Hobbit's Day).

Since hardly anyone plays the ukulele from sheet music, my editions are written in easy-to-read tablature.
